THE STORY
Originally Armenian. Raised in the Netherlands. Based in Abu Dhabi.
Anusch is an internationally renowned belly dancer, instructor, choreographer, and competition judge. Known for her charismatic stage presence, dynamic teaching style, and elegant yet playful expression, she has captivated audiences worldwide.
With over 45 countries in her portfolio, Anusch has performed and taught extensively across the Middle East, North Africa, Asia, Europe, and the USA.
THE JOURNEY
Building a Dance Legacy in the UAE
For the past 15 years, Anusch has been based in the United Arab Emirates, where she not only performs but also teaches weekly at Bellydance Abu Dhabi (BDAD)—the first belly dance school in the UAE's capital, which she founded in 2018.
Through BDAD, she has inspired hundreds of Arab women and is widely recognized as Abu Dhabi's belly dance icon.
In 2022, Anusch was honored with the prestigious U.A.E. Gold Visa as a Professional Choreographer—a recognition of her significant contributions to the arts. She is grateful for the support of the visionary Emirati leadership and proud to call the UAE her second home.
In 2023, she expanded her influence by launching Bellydance Qatar (BDQ) in Doha.
International Impact
Before making her mark in the Middle East, Anusch spent eight years leading a dance school in Leiden, Netherlands. She is also the founder of the International Summer Bellydance Festival (ISBF), which ran annually in Leiden until 2017, and moved in 2025 to Abu Dhabi, now IBF-Abu Dhabi
In 2024, ISBF relocated to Abu Dhabi, UAE, continuing its legacy of elevating dancers to international recognition.
